BayFrance (Franco-Bavarian University cooperation center) is the contact and the service center for the university and research cooperation between France and Bavaria (Germany).

Our missions:

  • Giving advice to students, scientists and universities.
  • Student Mobility grants and funding of small projects.
  • Scientific Event Management.

The office with its binational team is located in the city center of Munich, hosted by the Technical University of Munich.

The center is financially supported by the Bavarian Ministry of State for Education, Culture, Science and Art (StMBW); and the French Ministery of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE).

Die Bayerische Betreuungsinitiative Deutsche Auslands- und Partnerschulen besteht seit 2008 und wird vom Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst und vom Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienst (DAAD) aus Mitteln des Auswärtigen Amts (AA) gefördert.

Die BayBIDS dient der Förderung der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Deutschen Auslands- und Partnerschulen und den bayerischen Hochschulen. Ziel ist es, begabte Absolventinnen und Absolventen dieser Schulen, die ein hohes Leistungsniveau und exzellente Sprachkenntnisse mitbringen, für ein Studium in Bayern zu interessieren. Dementsprechend bietet die BayBIDS neben Stipendien auch die Organisation von Schülerbesuchen an bayerischen Hochschulen an und ist Ansprechpartnerin für Fragen rund um das Studium in Bayern.

The Bavarian University Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) is a publicly funded service institution for all public universities of the Free State of Bavaria, Germany. It was established in 2009 by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts and the Bavarian universities in order to respond to rising interest in academic and scientific exchange with Latin American countries.

BAYLAT’s objectives are connected to the Bavarian universities’ internationalization strategy. The main goal of BAYLAT is to extend connections and collaboration between Bavarian and Latin American universities and research institutions.

The University of Passau offers Oskar-Karl-Forster scholarships to talented students and doctoral candidates in financial hardship. This scholarship provides a lump-sum payment of up to 500 euros.

The scholarship is provided by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, and is intended:

  • for students: to pay towards to cost of books and other learning materials
  • for doctoral candidates: to contribute to the printing costs of their doctoral thesis 

The scholarship is offered exclusively to students and doctoral candidates enrolled at the University of Passau.

In accordance with the BAföG act, the University may not provide funding for any purposes other than the above.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible for the scholarship if:

  • you receive a BAföG grant and have been enrolled for at least one full semester
  • the net income of those liable for your maintenance payments does not exceed twice the allowance stipulated in the BAföG act

You are not eligible if you have already received an Oskar-Karl-Forster scholarship.

You must provide receipts for all purchases. This must show the date of purchase and the title of the purchased work or works. Receipts are only valid after the date of application; any receipts submitted beforehand will not be accepted.

Ansbach University of Applied Sciences

In line with its internationalisation strategy, Ansbach University of Applied Sciences with currently 3,300 students wants to increase the proportion of students who integrate study and/or practical stays abroad into their studies. The aim is to acquire intercultural competences, to add an international component to their academic training and to acquire and expand foreign language skills. Likewise, the number of international exchange and full-time students is to be expanded in order to promote internationalisation "at home" at the university itself.

The International Office is the central point of contact for questions about studying and internships abroad, funding programmes, partner universities in and outside Europe, as well as for the support of international students and guests.
